Austrian Deliciousness

While in Austria, I was able to try some of the "local flavour", and boy was it good!

My favourite had to be the Kaiserschmarrn. The dish is made of pancakes (with raisins and maybe some cinnamon) torn into pieces and served with powdered sugar on top and apple sauce on the side...so good!

The other dish that sounded better than it was, was Germknödel. It is a cake-like white dough in the shape of an up-side-down bowl stuffed with plum jam and smothered in vanilla sauce and topped with poppy seeds.

And of course, I tried the Weiss bier (a white, yeast beer) of the area (although I believe it comes from the Bavaria region of Deutschland).
